If the company should not be allowed to do that for the sake of consumer protection, then there should be laws to prohibit such practice. I think so too. I find that Twitterrific is a more polished better looking app than Tweetie 2.0 - I have buyers remorse.

Hello,
Anyone know of a free program I can download that will allow me to do the bare bones basics of photoshop? I have OS X 10.4.11.
I need to do stuff like crop, contrast, resize images, burn and dodge, basic use of paintbrush etc.
Any suggestions? Please Help!

I am past the 14 day return window but I have only had my MBP for roughly a month now. I am noticing a dead pixel on the screen. Will Apple fix that or does Apple require a minimum amount of dead pixels to fix?

If I could get Apple's programmers to make one change, the first would be to bring back the handy method of choosing what application to open from a web address in email.
Used to be that if you wanted to change this, you option-clicked on the address, and a list of applications came up.
This is now gone, and I have no idea how to change the browser that is the automatic choice.
Others? What would you change?

Yeah- this looks to be a bummer for us folks with iOS devices. Apple will have to devote a bunch of resources just to bring their own maps implementation to be as good as google's, the better version on android not withstanding. As someone else pointed out, apple will still need to get maps from somewhere, no matter how good their implementation.

update: I found it on a site for downloading android apps. Perhaps you have an android phone?
Anyway looking at that site made me realize that I'm glad I don't have to deal with that. The site I found was amateurish looking and made me think it would be risky to use it in terms of potential viruses. The reviews from downloaders also confirmed what i suspected about apps for multiple platforms. There were many comments about the particular app not working on a particular device (ex - a samsung tablet) but working on another. What a headache it must be to keep those apps functioning with new devices from different manufacturers popping up all the time.
My bad. It isn't the coleco version it is simply called LED Football. Pretty much the same thing though.

Flip side: You can't seriously think that professionals are going to haul around a 27" monitor, full keyboard, stylus & tablet, quadcore i7, multi-terabyte desktop computer can you?
iPad naysayers keep missing the point: it's not a "computer replacement", it's an anytime/anywhere device to augment a serious computer. If you need [some of] Photoshop right now, just get out the easy-carry tablet and do a reasonable approximation of what you can do perfectly with that office/home behemoth, and either be content with "good enough" or do the refinements when you get back.

You know, I don't have an iPhone or an iPad. I'm mainly interested in Mac Pro news... but MacRumors isn't going to pay the bills by catering just to me. Those interested in iPhone and iPad news have a home here too, noisy crowd that they are. Be good to get many of them interested in Macs and other parts of the site, but that's another topic.
I like stories like this, by the way. May not comment on them that often, but still read them, nonetheless.

I am thinking of pulling the trigger with some new hardware. As a student, I know a route I can take is the student Apple Developer program. After searching for the ADC store to use the discount I notice its gone! Does anyone know if this program still exists?
