Has anyone with the new iMac experienced the persistent buzzing issue present in most of the models last year?
The issue presents itself when the brightness is below full (and proceeds to get louder as you lower the brightness further). Tends to be more obvious when the casing becomes warm.
This is the only thing keeping me from buying an iMac, after the few I got last year were all returned for that issue.

...I agree, but it's always good to keep corporations honest. Google, on the other hand, does try and get you to use their webmail precisely so that they can access it.

It needs offline maps. Without that, it's pointless on an iPod Touch, or any WiFi-only device. If I could save just one city at a time: say I'm going to London, and I will need a map of London all day, then I could save a given radius of a London map and it would be handy.
What I do now is take screenshots of maps while I still have WiFi, but that's totally annoying to do.
Offline maps would take away income from the Cellular Providers. Also, putting a GPS in the Touch would take away from iPhone sales.
Both won't happen... :eek:

Why is dressing provocatively stupid? That's one of the many freedoms women enjoy in the western world, and i enjoy looking at them dressed that way. But I'm not gonna go and rape them. What you're saying confirms Muslim countries justification for sharia law. What are we supposed to do. Base it all on rumor and show up outside stores on Wednesday if we want one? Give me a break!
EXACTLY! All this hush hush in the telecom business is ridiculous. I imagine Apple is waiting on all the retail stores to confirm delivery from weekend shipments and a safe bet would be a Wednesday announcement and you can buy Thursday at retail stores, select Best Buys, and possibly ATT/VZW.
I wonder if there is a surprise up Apples sleeve, like a 64GB white model available as kinda like a "sorry" for the delay...???

I wonder how many of these posts are trolls? I haven't had any issues whatsoever with 4.3.1. I also didn't have any problems with 4.3; battery life has been absolutely stellar and call performance actually improved in 4.3.1.
The timing of all these "bitching" posts just seems suspicious.
I was wondering whether these issues only apply to people who JB their phones? Or perhaps there is some particular app that they all have installed doesn't agree with 4.3.1.

I could not disagree more. There is nothing wrong with a focused keynote. In fact, it is somewhat refreshing once and a while to have a situation where the man himself takes the time to really go into what I believe is one of the most revolutionary concepts I have seen. Not only is it functional, but aesthetically it is amazing. The price is high if you were expecting them to give it away, but the fact is they have pulled it off and brought mobile technology to the next level and far beyond.

Yes, I know nothing about the delay....due to the disgraceful actions of Apple and their total lack of openness.
People keep whining about the lack of openness of Apple, but if I take a look at other companies in the same market (Samsung, Sony, LG etc..) I wonder how much more open they are, when compared to Apple? The only thing they do differently is announce their products in a different way, but I don't see announcements about products delays and their reasons by other manufacturers anywhere on a regular basis. What lack of openness are you referring to, and what do you expect from Apple?
Anyone with a certain business sense would have handled the white iPhone issue in the same way that Apple did. They probably didn't know themselves when it would be ready for large scale production, so what good does it do to give regular updates or keep promising launch dates that cannot be met (I know they did this with the white iPhone, but this just proves that they should just confirm when they are sure)?
All this outrage is because Apple is actually the most reliable manufacturer on the planet with it's synchronized and predictable launch patterns (bar some examples such as the Mac Mini and Air). I keep getting the feeling that it's the same kind of outrage that is present when the always-on-time guy is for once a bit late, whereas most of the others are late everyday and nobody cares.
It's just a gadget, not a cure for cancer...

For this id use the 3rd party plug-in Melodyne, but that cost over $500.
There could be cheaper plug-ins, search for autotune or something.
Or i suppose you could copy the notes you need to change to a separate track and change the pitch of the track... now thats thinking outside the box ey..

I believe this is to allow you to start your computer from a Mac OS X install disc on a remote computer. You will need to connect to your wireless network to see the available discs.
I think this feature was more useful for original MacBook Air and/or for installing Snow Leopard. Since the new MBAs come with a USB drive, and Lion is expected (or at least rumored) to be distributed as an App Store download, you probably won't need to use it at all.
