This is a welcome update. I had been irritated with just how long it took the MacBook Pro to wake from sleep. Often it would wake up, put up the security dialog, and then, if I didn't get back to it fast enough, hide that panel. I would then hit a key or move the mouse and WAIT for 30 or 40 seconds before the security dialog would be shown again. This odd behavior has been remedied. Now, upon waking from sleep, the security panel comes right up, accepts my password right away, and I can get down to business with no problems.

anything than this cheap aluminum!!! there is a dent on my 2011 MacBook and I don't know where it came from. I had a blackbook for almost six years and no scratches or dents.

Haha! That would come in handy, with these long cold Minnesota winters. :D Anyway, anything would have to be more durable than the current Nano enclosures. I love my mini because of its casing, and have waited on picking up a new iPod until I see something more durable. I have no need for a 30-60GB iPod, the 4-6 GB's is the sweet spot for me personally.

I had a laptop with a magnesium alloy case back in the days before I became a Mac Convert. It was a Sony VAIO 505-TR, and was a very nice light machine. One of the benefits of the magnesium case over the aluminium Powerbook case is the magnesium case never corroded like my 12" PB case has.
I think your iBook has a magnesium frame.
Magnesium tanishes, but I believe it is like aluminum and practically transparent. As for the flammability, you have got to be really trying to ignite it. Your iPod is not just going spontaneously light on fire.

I saw a follow-up report on this (on CNN I believe). What the original report doesn't tell you is that the person doing the tracking requires some sort of device ID or code from the iPod before implementing the tracking process. The author of the report mentioned that you can only get this by opening up the iPod. If this is correct, it doesn't seem that people can track you without having physical access to your iPod first.
On a positive note, this might be a good way to track your kids on family outings.

We had an idea like that years ago when we were messing with audio editing and mixing on a laptop. We thought it would be cool if you could swap the keyboard for some mixing controls. Next time remind me to patent random ideas!

I think the G3 shuffle will be built right into the little earbuds. No wires. Beats me how you'd control it. Maybe tap it with a finger? Untill it disapears completely there is always room to make it smaller.
Don't laugh. Someone must have said once "how smal can theymake eyeglasses? then they invented contact lenses and then laser surgury. Poof the glasses disappered.
All I reayy want to see however is for the wire to be gone in the next revision.

Any idea if this will work under 10.5.8? My boot rom matches up, but I haven't upgraded to SL because I don't want to break the functionality of my Duel Adapter to read/copy Panasonic P2 cards - essentially my reason for getting this model, the last 15" w/ an express card slot!

I'd get the New Yorker in a minute if it was even remotely priced the way it would be for a print subscription. I'd pay even more--due to the convenience factor, but not $5 an issue.

T-Mobile is pretty big too. They have just purchased a ton of bandwidth for new high-speed services.
Remember the T-Mobile CEO saying "we have a similar vision as Apple" ?
That's why Cingular went with Microsoft, they know they didn't win over Apple. So, this is most likely going to be a T-Mobile partnership (whose corporate parent has a HUGE presence in Europe).

Things like this make me think that the current version of the Suite will be support alongside FCP X for a time.
That would certainly be nice...
As long as Color (or at least its functionality) is still around and I can continue to freelance with it, I'll be open to the idea of updating. I'm actually in the early stages of setting up a long-form doc. Hopefully more info will roll out soon, so I can decide on whether to do it in FCPx.

People who moved those font files should be able to move them back into place, unless they've been replaced with the update.
