I'll buy one when it gets a capacitive pressure based screen/stylus (Like the HTC Flyer)

You're getting negative votes on your post just because people here know that Apple will never do that, but I think I have to agree with you. I mean I own the iPad 1 now and love it, but I'd love it even more if I could write on it with a pen. It would be amazing for taking notes. I can't take notes by typing on the thing, I still have to bring a notebook (as in an actual notebook, made of paper lol) or my MacBook.

Good. I'm all in favor of Apple adding more incentives for devs to embrace the Mac App store. As a consumer I really like the idea of an App Store that makes buying and installing as easy as one click as well as fostering competition between comparable apps.

The Mac AppStore is SJ's wet dream - the closest that he'll get to controlling the platform - just like iOS.

Realistically, OSX cannot become totally closed.

Unfortunately, due to Apple's rules people will never know of the gems that are out there that cannot be included on the Mac AppStore... because they'll be brainwashed into thinking MacAppstore is the only way to get apps - outside of various retail stores.

The MacApp store would be more useful if Apple were to dropped its dracion rules. Some of its rules are wrthwhile having, but others... ugh.

It's a hell of a lot easier updating your apps and re-installing applications through the Mac App Store than any previous method. You don't have to check every single app on your machine to see if it's updated, nor do you have to go to the developers website if they don't have an automatic updater or even a manual updater.

I, like many people, had a hard time getting XCode 4.00 to be upgraded to XCode 4.01. AppStore simply wouldn't recognize that I had previously purchased XCode 4 (yes, I had the XCode installer in /applications ). Downloading outside of the appstore would have been vastly easier...

JohnnyQuest chill out man you sound worse then my Dad growing up as a kid. Just telling a story, and sorry for my grammar must be that UCF education I paid for. Go to the fridge and bust open a bottle of that hater-aid or better yet, go get laid. Since you obviously seem pretty stressed over the story. Who are you anyway? Judge Jury and Executioner? Please

You seem like a joy to be around.

What you did is inexcusably wrong, what do you expect? The "stoner," as you so eloquently put it, probably lost his job, and you're trying to make excuses for yourself.

    Grow up.

Oh and by the way, ever heard of projection? I'm pretty sure my sex life has nothing to do with this dumb site. You seem a little unsettled though. Just saying.

Woah I love that plan, there is no doubt Steve is a modernist.
If they are any other drawings some Ele's and section would be very neat to see.

Ok Price tag of $8+mil going by the high spec houses I've worked on this one seems quiet small so the level of workmanship and materials being planned must all be very impressive.

I'm sure we'll see photos on every ArchiBlog once it's done.

I might be getting confused here - but isn't the music store just a web thingy and not part of the software? i.e. store and media player distinct, though interlinked
It is built into the iTunes software. The store uses XML markup that looks a lot like HTML, but it's not.

I'm certainly not worried about the people shooting at clay pigeons or paper cups.

I'm concerned about the large number of deaths and injuries caused each year by firearms.

    31,224 deaths [2007 WISQARS (http://webappa.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/mortrate10_sy.html)]

    66,769 non-fatal injuries [2009 WISQARS (http://webappa.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/nfirates2001.html)]

Sure, and I could easily find stats for deaths caused by automobiles and speeding.

Maybe we need a law that prohibits the manufacture of vehicles capable of traveling more than 65 mph. After all the speed limit in most places is 65, a few places are 75.

Just think, could WWDC 2007 be the first keynote we all watch on our big screen TVs, streaming over iTV?

I wonder, would it be possible to introduce an element of P2P technology to spread the load of live keynote broadcasts? Obviously, streaming isn't as suited to P2P as file downloads, but it still could help.

And please.... don't cry about the 30% margin... it's so freak'n fair by all software distribution practices that is not a reason for any developer not to want to use the AppStore as a channel.

30% is very good if you usually went through others.

If you sell the software yourself online, it's not an attractive deal. A big example was the delay in getting Slingplayer on iOS devices. They could not have been happy about losing $10 per each of tens or hundreds of thousands of downloads.

Obviously, Apple is trying to encourage more Apps to get on iTunes or in the App store. Nothing wrong with that.

Sure, but the point is that this isn't a new award. It's been going on for years and yet suddenly has this requirement that is blatantly geared towards rewarding only those who also give royalties to Apple.

It's their right to do so, but greed is not pretty to watch in any case.

    ooops...

gop takes unprecedented 10-point lead on generic ballot (http://www.gallup.com/poll/142718/gop-unprecedented-lead-generic-ballot.aspx)
republicans also maintain wide gap in enthusiasm about voting

princeton, nj -- republicans lead by 51% to 41% among registered voters in gallup weekly tracking of 2010 congressional voting preferences. The 10-percentage-point lead is the gop's largest so far this year and is its largest in gallup's history of tracking the midterm generic ballot for congress.

Just imagine in September when Apple has the September ipod keynote, SJ will probably say something like this:"The MBA sales have been average this year, we think we can do better, and we want to make it more affordable for the holiday season, so we will be dropping the price $500 and now it will cost $1300.

Seriously you hate it when MS fans get their hopes up  Given your blind fanboyism, I doubt very much you have much empathy for anything related to MS.

Doesn't anyone remember that this used to be the case? Right in the beginning, there was a live video feed to all the Apple stores... I went to two of them, both at the Mall of America store (and both times sat next to some very quirky Mac users... y'know... the regular type). Then one year, I went and it wasn't on. I was pissed. Then I learned Apple wasn't doing that because it was too expensive or something.

Seeing the floor traffic of those places, I don't see how it couldn't be lucrative to get passers-by excited about fresh products...

    Whatever, I guess.

    -Clive

I think it was WWDC '05, just after the Apple Store in Regent Street, London had just opened. I went in about 4 hours before the keynote was due to start, I actually happened to be passing through. I also happened to see the store manager standing on the bottom floor. I enquired if he'd be showing the keynote in the theatre, he said something like

"I'd love to, but none of my staff would get any work done"...! Which is totally opposite to the experience I had at every other apple store front and back...

Ideally, they should get all the security guards to be extra vigilant, as they don't care about the keynote, give all the staffers the 2 hours off except a few for the tills (they could even rotate them on 20-minute shifts) then put Steve up on all the screens, and in the theatre, and have him blaring out throughout the store!

Then bust out all the "do not open until 7pm" boxes! I'd be there with about £400 in my pocket!!

edit: after that blurb, I forgot what I was gonna write! Cheers Arn, good job! I'm worried the feed will get totally MacRumoured though!!
