Triumph Recalls 2010 GT and ST Motorcycles for Incorrect Dipstick Length

Triumph is recalling certain model year 2010 GT and ST motorcycles.

The plug/dipstick is of an incorrect length. As a result, the accuracy of the dipstick for measuring adequate levels of oil may be compromised and adequate oil levels may not be maintained.

The number of units affected is 216.

The British brand has included a classic parallel-twin roadster to its 2011 line of motorcycles, namely the Bonneville T100. The machine blends traditional styling with modern engineering and technology, and comes with a two-year unlimited mileage warranty.

The 865cc parallel-twin double overhead camshaft engine that delivers 68 hp comes with modern fuel injection, with retro touches that include dummy pushrod tubes and positioning of the ignition key. Peashooter silencers, classic two-tone color options and spoked steel wheels (with a larger 19” front) are also included.

Completing the 1960s look are rubber fork gaiters, knee pads and classically styled handlebar mounted speedometer and rev counter, which includes a clock and trip information. Modern disc brakes, suspension and steel cradle frame blend seamlessly into the package. The exhaust comes with stainless steel headers and twin chromed silencers.

The traditional Bonneville styling is completed by two-tone color options, with hand painted gold or silver coachlines. Three regular options are available: Phantom Black with Fusion White, Forest Green with New England White and the new Vintage Cream and Chocolate. The popular single colour Jet Black option is also available and comes with matching black-finished engine cases.

2011 Triumph will be powered by a stroked out version of the Triumph Daytona 675. Triumph today held the global unveiling of its eagerly awaited Tiger 800 and Tiger 800XC adventure touring models at the internationally renowned EICMA show in Milan, Italy.

The unveilings follow the global introductions of the new Thunderbird Storm, America and Speedmaster at last month’s Intermot show in Cologne, Germany. Triumph’s 2011 model range represents the largest new product offering in the company’s 109-year history.

The all-new Tiger 800s represent Triumph’s first entry into the mid-capacity adventure touring sector. Powered by a 94hp long-stroke 799cc three-cylinder engine, the two models share the same tough steel frame but have their own distinct personalities.

Both models come with a wide range of official accessories that are specially designed to help owners get the most out of their machines. High quality soft and hard luggage options as well as optional gel seats with varying heights make these new Triumphs exceptionally capable and inviting touring machines. A range of off-road protection parts also has been developed for riders who plan to go off the beaten path, while the class-leading 645w alternator ensures that the Tiger 800s will have no problem running the auxiliary lights and heated handlebar grips that are available as official accessories.

2011 Triumph Sprint GT revealed


We have always had a soft corner for the Triumph Sprint and with its touring avatar finally out, we have even more reasons to want to ride this bike. Christened the Triumph Sprint GT, the changes made to the GT version are quite a lot. Yes, we know you already noticed the new low slung exhaust which have now replaced the under-seat ones. Some one tells us these help pump up more power and torque too!


The seating posture is and comfortable, there is bigger wind screen, better headlamps for night riding, standard 31 litre panniers and ofcourse ABS assisted brakes. On the option list, owners can opt for a top box that can hold two full-size helmets and also includes a 12 volt power supply for charging mobiles / electronics on the go.


The Triumph Sprint GT will be available in the US market this Fall as an early release 2011 model and will carry a sticker price of $13,199 or around Rs 5.9 lakh in Indian currency
