Most Photoshop 6 tutorials also work the same in PS7. I don't really follow many tutorials, so I don't know any of the good sites with tutorials, but if you run a search on www.google.com for Photoshop tutorials you should get something. Even if they are for PS6, they will most likely work in PS7.

The application was received on 7/10 and the checks were cashed today - How will you receive the resceipt number ? Would it come in the mail?
USCIS will sent you receipt. If you do internet banking and can see your check, on reverse side of check, they stamp with detailed infromation. If you can access that you can find it.
Yesterday I picked up receipt number for my son from check, who applied OPT/EAD in CSC.
Otherwise wait for few more days to get receipt.

But if your form is signed with today's date then doctor might want you to take blood work again as they are no longer invalid if they are more than 1 yr old.
Again this are grey areas.There are no concrete answers.
I was not sure about this. I guess medicals are valid for 15months (if I am not wrong). But again, I just sent the medicals with new I-693 form with old results (like old wine in the new bottle :) ). Its just that the Doctor forgot to fill couple of check boxes, so I hope they accept it.

I dont know if this is possible but how about applying for EB3 using premium processing and once it is approved u have ur prority date set to Apr 2004 and then apply for EB2 I140 and ask for the April 2004 priority date.
I am not sure if u can do this, looking forward from others to see if this is possible.

Detroit Infopass officers are laid back, if it is the same heavy lady you had to go to I sympathize with you. She was the most mean govt official I have come across in past 10 years. Her response to me was the details about my case cannot be discussed due to National Security reasons, tried ask another question and was abruptly cut to be asked to wait.

Smerchas...Are you sure about what this? From what I remember, you have to be in the country when you apply for your AP...But there is no necessity that you need to be here when it is approved !
Technically, you can ask your attorney or the person who is living at the address where the AP document would be sent by the USCIS, and request them to forward the approved AP to your then current address...That way, you don't have to stay in the country while USCIS processes your application...
Ofcourse, the flip side is, if your AP is denied for any reason, you would have to go to the US consulate in wherever country you are and request the special admission letter...

Is there any way IV can take up the NSC I140 processing times with USCIS???
Why is there a huge discrepancy between TSC and NSC wrt I140
Also the processing times NSC publsihes are not right.
for eg: My EB2 is pending from Dec 2006 and the latest update is Feb 2007.

Here is the latest snapshot of the backlog of EB applications:
EB1= 7,595 + 2,961 ( at NVC) + new applications.
EB2= 45,573 + 6,738 ( at NVC) + Huge backlog waiting in line.
EB3= 114,442 + 102,395 ( at NVC) + unknown backlog waiting in line.
*NVC stands for National Visa Center.
** Does not include service centers.
* Spillover to EB3 may not happen for several years due to a large number of EB2's waiting to submit their 485 applications.
* Even if spillover occurs, majority of them will go to EB3 Philippines (please See the NVC backlog).
* From the above, assuming no spillover to EB3-I, it would take (56,640 + 20,873)/2600=30 years.
* With spillover (lets say after 5++ years due to the pending EB2�s), it may take another 5 to 7 years to clear the EB3 backlog.

Hello everyone,
Here is my status..someone please clarify as my immigration attorney has different answers each time
1) I am on H1B status and recently transfered to a new H1B Employer and i got query last week.
2) My Husband is holding a L1B Visa and its valid till Nov 2011.
3) Can i apply for L2 now(without COS) while waiting for H1B Approval?? This will allow me to change to L2 if something happens to H1.
4) If i have my H1B approval i wish to stay and work on H1B.if not i will be moving to L2(leave the country and comeback ??)
Please post your prompt answers.

Planning to apply GC in 2008 jan or sometime will it be fine. that time my H1 completes 4 yrs. How long will it take labour? will it be over by 2010?
once i file labour and if not cleared by 2010(h1 completes 6 yrs). i must go back india? right?

Mine was upgraded to Premium by my company after waiting 15 months (see signature). Two days after it was upgraded, my I-140 was approved. Then company lawyer sent inquiry to USCIS on my I-485 after that I saw LUD on 9/15,9/16,9/17 then nothing. Then another LUD on 10/25,10/26 then on 10/27 i got 21 emails from CRIS, our 485 was approved (family of 5). So I think it's worth it. I thought I am stucked with name/background check but I guess I am not since they approved my I-485. So good luck to you guys !!

Lawyer says USCIS Officer did not provide correct information to me... He got an email stating my case has been moved to the Review Department of TSC for background check. Its 303 days today since I filed my case and I would appreciate if someone could guide me if there is a way to expediate the processing.

I changed jobs recently and retained my attorney from previous employer even though I had the option of using the current employer's attorney for free. The reason being
1. I had good relationship with my previous attorney.
2. I never know when my dates (EB-I 06/03) will be current and in case of a layoff or future job change, we need to update USCIS with the new attorney information which I thought will raise a few eyebrows and was not comfortable with this option.
3. Even though you change attorney and send the updated details to USCIS, chances are that they don't update the system and any RFE or information may still get sent to the original attorney that filed your I-485.
Note, that I am not suggesting you one way or the other, these are the reasons for making my decision, hopefully this will help you make an informed decision.

I have an LUD of 08/05/2007 on my 2006 approved I-140. I was hoping, like so many of us, that it meant CIS was entering my 485 in the system. But looking at the trend, it seems like CIS may only be gathering data on how many approved I-140 are currently in the system and make projections/plans for future work load etc.

send your all your transcripts to www.wes.org and ask them to evaluate your transcripts. They will confirm whether your education is equivalent to US Education or not.
My wife had a BA (3 years) and BEd (1 year) and after the evaluation, they considered it equivalent to a 4 year US degree with Bachelors degree.
Based on what you said, the lawyer is right, however you can use the EB2 stream using the BS+5 years requirement, rather than the MS requirement.

3 year h1 extension requires I140 to be approved plus non-current priority dates. You can get a copy of the approval from your attorney
You should try this option, in one of the immigration lawyer's forum they mentioned about this. If you have this you can get 3 yrs extension, that saves lot of moeny and time. It's worth exploring this option. Please share with us, if you are able to succed with this option.

You cannot be in H-4 status and work, even with an EAD. Either you have H-4 status and don't work, or you work on the EAD. H-4 status does not allow for work, even with an EAD. If the employer won't extend your H-1B, you just ned to make sure that you always have a valid EAD and an Advance parole so you can travel.

Instead of ShowDialog, try using just Show. See if that fixes the issue.
