Hi Gurus...
I am one of the July 2007 EAD filers and did not file for AP at that time.
So I am in the process of the renewing EAD & Applying for AP for the first time.
I have couple of questions..
do you get Finger Printing for EAD Renewal ?
do you get Finger Printing / Biometrics for first time applying of AP [Advance Parole]
Your help is much appreciated

On July 9, the Senate, by a vote of 84 to 6, passed a DHS funding bill which includes a variety of immigration enforcement and benefits measures. The measure now goes to a House-Senate Conference Committee which must reconcile this bill with a funding measure previously passed by the House of Representatives which contains none of the immigration amendments added by the Senate. I applied for my AP in June and recently at the end of August my AP was approved. I received the AP a couple of weeks later in mail. However I noticed that instead of receiving the I-512 Authorization of Parole of an Alien into the United States, I received an I-797C Notice of Action document for me an my wife. The contents of this I-797C are exactly the same as the previous I-512s that I have filed for and received over the years.
What I am afraid of is that this may cause problem at the port of entry when I return back from India because of the wrong title of the document.
Has anyone else received such a a document I-797C instead of I-512 and is it safe to travel having such a document? Any advice/input is appreciated.

Which comes first.....card production ordered or approval sent? Are there cases when they don't update the status online with "approval sent" yet you have physically received the EAD cards. How long does it take to physically receive the cards from the date the status changed to card production ordered?

My I-485 application was filed under EB3 category when I was working for my previous employer (PD - October 2006). I changed my job in August 2008, but never sent any documentation for AC21. I now have close to 8 years of experience and also a masters degree (MBA) from a reputed univeristy here in the US.
Now that EB2 dates are so close to October 2006, is there anyway I can port my application from EB3 to EB2? I can initiate this discussion with my current employer and may be able to convince them to help me. But I want to know exactly what needs to be done.

Hi,
I'm working on H1-B visa since last 6 months.
My wife is joining me on H4 visa and her H4 is approved till July'2010.
I have switched my Employer in the first month as I arrived USA and my New Employer filed my H1-B Transfer petion as regular, but still my case is in pending. But my wife's ticket is confirmed on 7th of October and she is coming to US on OCT 7th.
Two day's back my employer changed my case from Regular to Premium.
My question is that what will happen to my wife case..?? Does she need to re-apply for her H4 visa once my H1-B gets approve..?? Can she come to US with her previous stamp..??

I recently got my EAD card. I intent to continue to work full time with my current employer. I want to work part time with another employer. My H1 is stamped and valid untill end of 2008.
If I use my EAD card for part-time job, does my H1 get invalid?
If yes, do I need to inform my fulltime employer about change in status?
If no, can I travel outside USA with the H1 visa for reentry?
Please help.

It has to be receipt date FIFO, but can never say how USCIS will processes.
With my experience from Backlog Elimination Center's, USCIS works using a pure random function that gets seeded randomly from congress.
Please let me know if 140 processing times is based on receipt date or notice date?
I'm a concurrent 140-485 filer, filed on July 2 2007. My notice date on I-140 says August 16, 2007, where as my friend who filed only140 on july 2 has Notice date of july 12. Does that mean his will be processed first?

Hi
I am currently working on my H1 for comapany A. They have filed my Labor on Dec-06 in EB-3. I have an approved I-140 and I-485 is currently pending.
I have got an offer from company B. They want me to switch on EAD and they said they will also file my H1 and i can then move back on H1.
My question is if i switch the company on EAD, can i switch back to H1B in new (Company C) or same company (Company B) and if so can i then swtich to EB-2 by filing new Labor and 140 using the same priority date.

I have just started a thread to ask if there is any need to call our local senators for co-sponsoring S.3084 ( Barbara Boxer), which is identical bill in Senate for HR 6039.
Is core working to get similar bills for HR.5882 and HR 5921 to get introduced in Senate?
If the question is inappropriate at this time then kindly close the thread.

Comp A (A Consulting Firm)applied for H1-B in April 2009 thru consular Processing and got approved. I worked for Client X in the month of April but lost my job in a week itself.(thus I dont have any pay Stubs from Comp A)Since Comp A was not able to find me a job. I found A full time job in Comp B in June 2009 , I somehow convinced Comp B to hire me as a contractor as I already have my H1-B approved thru Comp A. Thus from july 2010 I started working for Comp A again as my employer and Comp B as its Client. I am planning to go for VISA stamping in Dec 2010. My Question is
1) If they Ask for my Tax Returns and W2 for 2009 what should I answer as I just have my W2 frm Comp B
2) would there be a question of something like why havent I've been working for Comp A Since my H1 approval.
Please advice. I appreciate any kind of answer
