I Just learnt that the Name Check for my I-485 was processed under a different Alien number when it should be processed by alien number assigned in I-485 case. Since it was cleared under a different number (probably the one for I-140), I-485 file did not have this information and now they are getting it fixed. So when everything in my case is current, this came up right at the time when they will almost be getting out of visa #s. :(

I recommend you should all contact your service centers where your I-485 was filed and make sure that yoru name check is in process or got processed under correct alien number. If the service center refuse to provide any information, contact your congressman office and have them verify this information. You can find who is your local congressman by going to http://www.visi.com/juan/congress/.

I have been working as a consultant, due to the tight job market conditions I am not able to find my next contract in bay area, which was my current location when we filed I485 in Aug 2007. So, may be we got to relocate to other state say Texas. So, I was wondering what would be the impact of the move on our pending I485 applications after we change address using AR11 form. Should we avoid such move while I485 is pending?

Any Advice/Suggestions?

I made address changes to pending EAD renewal and I-485 yesterday in the afternoon for myself and spouse. Same day later in the evening I got email saying CPO for EAD renewal. This is a story of 8/20/2008.

I tried called 800 number and was told that they can't verify that address was successfully changed on the application.THey don't have access to personal information. They are asking me to take Inforpass to verify the address.

There is no LUD on either I-485 or EAD renewal after address change. Is LUD an indication that address change has been done? There are no infopass available for 2 months ( I will keep checking if somebody cancels )

Does anybody has any pointer as to how I can verify address change without infopass

I am on H1-B. I filed I-485, I-131 and I-765 in August 2007 under EB3 (ROW). I got married in Sept 2007 but my wife is still in home country due to J-1 2 year HRR. Her 2 years are up in Jan 15, 2008 and she plans to join me on H4.

1. Does my company or I need to do anything for her to apply for a visa at the consulate? Does she take a copy of my H1-B approval marriage certificate and that's it?

2. When she comes the US at the end of January we plan on filing I-485 for her based on my application pending. Can she file for AP and EAD at the same time? Would she be able to work on EAD if it gets approved?

3. I got a letter in the mail today that I have to appear for biometrics on Nov 07, 2007. Does it mean that after my biometrics are taken my GC could get approved right away, even though EB3-ROW is no longer current?

4. After my I-485 has been pending for 180 days, does it mean I could take a similar job anywhere?

Hi,

I am planning to get my H1B extension Visa stamped in Montreal, Canada. i am in US right now. I have completed the online application. I have paid the fee through my credit card and the status of the transaction is showing as "Pending" in my bank account. I can able to see "MRV Fee Receipt Number". i can also able to see Schedule Appointment First Available: Friday, November 12, 2010 09:30 AM. But I am not able to schedule an appointment. All of the steps I performed on Yesterday. So I have waited for today for any changes and all remains the same.

Please help me.

I was trying to know what are the possibility of those people who have ported successfully and still got their GC approved.

I realized that people who already got their GC won't be visiting this site. But, if you have known somebody who did, vote on the poll please.

1. Changed jobs --> interview --> got GC (no RFE)
2. Changed jobs --> RFE --> invoke AC21 --> interview --> got GC (invoke AC21 only when requested)
3. Changed jobs --> invoke AC21 --> interview --> got GC (invoke AC21 voluntarily, but no more RFE)
4. Changed jobs --> invoke AC21 --> RFE --> interview --> got GC (invoke AC21 voluntarily, but still get a RFE later)
