The Bajaj Boxer in Uganda sells for around USD 1250, 50% more than what it used to sell in India forUganda ofcourse doesnt have a local motorcycle manufacturer and riders have to do with cheap Japanese imports. However, of late, two Indian manufacturers - Bajaj and TVS have been doing quite well. Infact, they have beaten the Japanese imports, thanks to the fuel efficiency which is around 40-45 miles per litre (the 100cc bikes).
Sources say that the Bajaj Boxer, a 100cc bike, is the top selling and Bajaj enjoys a 30% market share in Uganda! Not bad...
