    Hey there

    My question is this:

I use a Qwest Actiontech wireless mode. I gave someone my WEP awhile ago and I desperately need to lock them out and take away their right to use my modem. How do I do this? Thanks for your help.

Whether there was good intent or not, I'm just thankful I installed untrackerd from Cydia; it continuously wipes the location file. JB FTW!

    Congratulations!

Yeah just swap the connector and then your Power activity light will work. I did that too on my case and both my power and HDD connectors were backwards so I just had to flip them and it worked.

I'm looking for a recipe box app where I can add my own recipes, delete the ones that come pre-installed and preferably has a shopping list. A clean UI is a huge plus. Can anyone recommend one? The apps I've found so far haven't been what I am looking for.

Android OS devices were as a group moving full steam ahead due to VZW not having the iPhone. But, we're already seeing the Android surge slow some as VZW customers that were buying Android devices simply to have the closest thing to an iPhone no longer need to make such a compromise AND Android based tablets are falling well short of expectations...even various Android-favoring blogs are admitting such. I don't think that means Android is in trouble, I just think that Android is not going to crush iOS like some thought 3-9 months ago. What will be interesting are results from VZW for a full quarter with the iPhone and the next two years as existing customers with Android devices are due for upgrades...what will they choose.

Apple clearly has the momentum still and to their benefit they are slowly and strategically working all screens...handheld, tablet, computer, portable gaming, console gaming and living room. iOS apps coming to Macs in just a few months. I think it is widely expected that we will soon be seeing an Apple TV refresh or a "full" Apple engineered TV with iOS app capabilities.

As newbies to Apple, and especially iOS, really hone in on being able to buy an app once and run on all these, or at least more than one, screen, the attractiveness of Android will diminish. Google certainly has the resources to likewise compete...but will they? I think Amazon can too, if they want to. Facebook shouldn't even try...no FB phone, please! Time will tell.

I have a Mac Mini from late 2006 with an intel Core duo cpu (Model#: MA608LL/A). The problem I'm having is that i have it set to turn the display off after idling 5min and go to sleep after idling for 10min. It turns the display off but the mac never goes to sleep. I can use the apple remote or the menu option to put it to sleep. It just never goes to sleep due to idling. Any possible solutions would be great.

What's the point of using Lotus Notes at all?

Any SMART company could be encrypting all their secure e-mail with PGP encryption.

I suppose these IT administrators feel better knowing they can read the content
of all your e-mails which makes their jobs more secure.

Not surprising. Android is becoming the more dominant... thing.

    Not the right reason...

I have a droid.(had iPhone on ATT but didnt get coverage at work/home) I payed an extra $100 to get the 1 year commitment in Nov 2009 just in case the CDMA iPhone came out a year later. Well it did come out a year later and my verizon contract was up. But I didnt get it because it was the same 8 month old phone and there is 0 chance I am going to get locked into a 2 year deal in january for a 8 month old phone that I wont be able to trade in until the June release 2.5 years later.

    I'm surprised they are surprised.

This is. People who are or were with Verizon are now:

That'll be great. It's not been improved much since its introduction.

For example, it has no bicycle route.

I think google has a lock on the map thing. I can't see apple employees driving around remapping the world to get their own data base

Google limits ability to use maps for navigation.

    There are other options though.

From what I gather, it's just like LaunchBar, no?

I haven't messed with it a whole lot, so I don't know all its ins and outs, but it seemed to be doing a similiar thing (brings up applications/files as you type).

Not bad, although if they are the same idea, I prefer launch bar - just wish it was free ;)

I haven't tried Launchbar, but yes, Quicksilver brings up apps / documents / folders / etc. to a certain depth that you can specify (at least partially).

I guess it's not that hard to explain after all. :p It's very strange and different if you're not familiar with the concept of a launcher, though (at least, I thought it was strange when I first used it ;) ).

I don't make a living with Photoshop, but it is a pretty serious side activity of mine, and as I said before, for what it is, Photogene is perfectly adequate for the general iPad user.

Unless they can add color profiles, different colorspaces other than RGB (LAB, CMYK, et al.), Photoshop for professional use will never get off the ground on a device like this.

Not to say you should be able to do a complete workflow from import to print on a tablet device, which, at least for now, seems completely unrealistic -- but I would think pros need to be able to import, see colors in a reasonable approximation for proofing or showing to clients, and maybe make spot edits based on client feedback.

I honestly wasn't too thrilled with Photoshop Express, which is why when I saw Photogene, I was immediately impressed with is features.

There was someone griping on MR the other day that Steve never seems to reply from anything but his iPhone. Well here it is, he replied from his iPad!

So there, Steve does use other products!
