Ans: Yes. It can be done through PAYPAL - payment need to be sent to donations@immigrationvoice.org
2) Is it possible to allow minimum RECURRING contributions like $10?
Ans: Seeing the need of assuring sure funding IV core team has decided minimum $50/- recurring option.When I am talking to my friends, we felt that the above things increase the
Contributions. We are also thinking that it is easy to ask friends to contribute if there are no limits on the contributions.
If I am correct there are more than 25,000 Members. If there are 10% of active members and each contribute $10 we get another $25000 that is required for the Bill.
My Contributions:

Contributed $100 for the DC Rally.
$25 to the local Northern California Chapter in Oct 07.
Contributed to AILF $100 during the July visa bulletin time.

There is no point in moving the PD if they cannot process the PD's who are current. This is what is happenning now in USCIS. I would rather they move it by small amounts and process those who are current than give false hope to people!

Ofcourse they deserve an H1-B visa. That what makes this country a great place to live ! Diversity of people and the freedom to choose what you do best in your career. That's why we are all here.
Software is easy. By the way I write device driver kernel code and I still think it is much easier compared to fashion modeling. Your kernel crashes - you look at the stack trace and create a patch - simple. As a fashion model you mess up on the ramp - you mess up millions of $s in advertisements and your entire career.
Most Engineers have this way of self-glorifying themselves which I kind of find rather lame. Your job is the easiest and you are overpaid. Wake up and smell the coffee ... or er Chai :)

� This posting involves aliens who are waiting for the I-485 applications where the underlying I-140 petition was approved but due to retrogression, I-485 cannot be approved. Most of these cases are EB-3 cases. When the same alien obtains an EB-2 labor certification approval through the same employer or a different employer and the visa number is available for the EB-2 for him or her, he should be eligible for filing another I-485 application based on the visa number available EB-2 I-140 petition. This can be achieved either by concurrent I-140/I-485 filing or if the new EB-2 I-140 has already been approved, by filing of stand-alone I-485 application.
� However, in the foregoing situation, the Pearson Memo of 2000 allows the alien to transfer the pending I-485 application from the existing underlying approved I-140 petition to a new EB-2 I-140 petition such that the alien does not have to file another I-485 application to use the second I-140 petition. For this to happen, two conditions must be met: (1) The existing underlying I-140 petition (most likely EB-3) must have been approved before the I-485 transfer is requested. Dhundun you have hit the nail on the head . Now i will be more clear
I came to USA with F1 as of last year and this year before completing i got approved for my H1 visa as stated by my consulatant and for which i had to be on status hence i continued my MBA and now this is my final semester and i will be done and my visa on F1 is valid till march 2008 . When i spoke to my consultant she told me tat its approved ie , my H1 but it will take another month for me to resolve it . So even if i get a job i have to still work without pay . Now i guess im dependent on her tat she should market me and get me a job . My bad luk that im stuck with getting H1 approved and no job though im through a consultant . Next thing is that i also completed my MBA and now if i was on F1 i could have got my OPT , but i guess now since my H1 is approved i have to wait to be marketed and also the query to be solved . So what will you guys suggest me ???

My EAD got approved on July 30th when my PD which is Mar 2005 for EB2 is not current.
USCIS issued the EAD for a year, called them up, they are asking me to send it back along with a fresh application.
Is there a process to get this straightened out? I call the USCIS number and each Rep gives me a different suggestion, one female was saying set up a infopass appt and they will help you out.
My current EAD runs out on Sep 19th and I dont want to mess with my EAD and create problems for myself
Anybody in the same boat?

When AP is approved, you get 3 copies. I went twice on intl trips and each time they took a copy. I am left with 1 copy of the AP.
Now I need to go on one last intl trip (I have applied for renewal). I just have one copy of AP with me.
How does it work? Will the officer just stamp the AP and make a copy?

You can file a DOL complaint, which could spell serious consequences for the employer. You could also file a wage claim with your state's employment development department to recover the wages you were owed.

You need not worry about your old H1 and also you can use the current visa to enter US as long as it has more then 6 months validity period.
Can you please tell me the source of this "6 months" clause? As per http://immigration-information.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6026 and http://www.murthy.com/news/n_immrum.html there is nothing about 6 months. Is there some new memo which specifically mentions 6 months validity of existing H1B?

I agree US having fair consideration for illegals because of political reasons(VOTES to be specific)
but the author comparing India & Mexico having strict rules.. common...
India have borders open for Bangladesh and whoever crosses the border, with out any shame
the present ruling party kaangress is giving Ration Card and Voters Id.
Mexico we all know how tuff the law is and what they do.
So Please do not compare apples with oranges.. whoever is the author.
Now Texas, Utah, the list goes on, Hope at least because of this CIR will come to the floor soon!
here there is no legals and illegals now, no one should be allowed to do divide and rule policy.
now Legal and Illegals are almost the same on immigration thing at least.

Hello,
I am in serious trouble. Sometime ago I tried to switch my I-140 from EB3 to EB2. Now I get NOID to deny 140. Something related to prevailing wage (lawyer has actual letter). In my LC the offered wage was OK for EB3 but low for EB2. Lawyer says he'll try to reinstate EB3, but not sure. Has any one of you been able to reinstate EB3 140? Please help...

A)NO. YOU WOULD ENTER ON THE AP. THEN WHEN THE H-1B IS ABOUT TO EXPIRE, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY FOR AN H-1B EXTENSION. WHAT SEEMS TO BE A GREY AREA IS THE EXACT STATUS AFTER THE I-94 THAT IS ISSUED BASED ON THE AP EXPIRES, AND BEFORE THE H-1B IS READY TO BE RENEWED. YOU CAN'T TECHNICALLY APPLY FOR AN EXTENSION OF AN H-1B UNLESS IT IS WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF EXPIRING.
What is the feed back you guys have received from your legal counsels? Please share.

What is the fastest and perhaps a little economic way to get documents over to chennai (Tamil Nadu) or Calicut (Kerala) from here in San Jose, ca.
USPS has this service called Express Mail ($27.95) or Priority Mail ($12.95)
I guess USPS is claiming 6-10 days (guess no gurantee) to india.
Other couriers seems to be $70+ (FedEx, UPS, DHL)..
Anyone has had good luck with USPS ? or do you suggest the couriers mentioned above ?
Need to get docs for an interview for parents on Feb 26th in Chennai...
